Region 1 Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (Region 1 RCEP) is located at Assumption College in Worcester, MA.  We are one of ten regional centers across the country that provides rehabilitation continuing education through a cooperative agreement with the federal Rehabilitation Services Administration (U.S. Department of Education - Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services).

The RCEP is a university-based, practitioner-oriented, human resource development program spanning the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont).  RCEP offers local, state, regional and national level training in vocational rehabilitation and independent living services for continuing education credits in a variety of formats including on-site workshops, professional conferences, technical assistance and distance learning alternatives.

The RCEP is focusing on seven core training areas:

  1. Employment of Individuals with Disabilities;
  2. Rehabilitation Practice;
  3. Rehabilitation Technologies for Service Delivery Systems;
  4. Comprehensive Personnel Development;
  5. Organizational Change for Continuous Improvement;
  6. Program Evaluation and Benchmarking; and
  7. Peer Technical Assistance.
